Movers & Shakers – August 2008…

Below is a sample of RIOT Recruitment’s involvement in the Hawke’s Bay employment market for July/August 2008…

RIOT Recruitment are please to confirm that Keith Thornton has joined DTS as Chief Executive Officer. DTS is a Napier-based business enterprise that provides a specialist working environment in our local region for disadvantaged people.  Keith’s involvement with DTS goes back to it’s inception in 1986 and he has served previously as chairperson and as a board member. Keith has most recently been with Hohepa Hawke’s Bay as Human Resources Manager.

Gareth Mentzer has joined the team at 3R Group Ltd in the newly created position of Resource and Logistics Manager. In this role, Gareth is responsible for managing all operational aspects of two of 3R’s key product stewardship programmes – Agrecovery and Paintwise. Gareth has a strong background in logistics, having most recently been the Distribution Manager for Hawke’s Bay Today.

Liana Monteith-Redmond has recently joined Unison Networks as People and Performance Manager. In this role, Liana is responsible for developing and implementing Unison’s HR strategy, policy and practice. Specifically, she is responsible for all facets of HR, with a key focus being the development of a strong employment offering and organizational culture. Liana has recently moved back to Hawke’s Bay, having most recently held senior HR roles at Waitemata District Health Board and Rodney District Council. Prior to this, Liana was HR Manager for Hastings District Council for a 4-year period 2003-2006.

In addition, the RIOT team have placed Angela English with Bayleys Real Estate as Finance Manager. Angela’s most previous role was in the Business Services team within NZ Police, based in Wellington. Prior to this, Angela has had a very successful career in finance overseas, working with global organizations, including Unilever.
